This exclusive Daintree waterfall tour is the only one to take you to the magical Cassowary Falls. This stunning rainforest waterfall tumbles over the hill above, falling 15m down to a deep, cool, pool of fresh water which is surrounded by lush vegetation. Towering trees provide shade and mossy rocks with ferns are the perfect place to soak up the serenity of your surrounds. Ours is the only group here. The waterfall and array of birds provide the soundtrack. You can participate in fish feeding, with the resident school of Jungle Perch, Turtles and Eels. Swim, explore or just relax. The Gateway to Cassowary Falls property is an amazing living landscape. 60 acres of pristine rainforest, descends from the hills and mountains to merge seamlessly with 100 acres of lush pasture, which supports around 100 head of cattle. There’s numerous waterways, which you’ll cross during your 90-minute Cassowary Falls tour, home to Eastern Water Dragons, Turtles and more. Hosted and guided by one of the property owners, Andrew Garrity, you’ll learn about some of the most interesting and ancient rainforest plants that have grown here for hundreds of thousands of years, with informative, interpretive rainforest commentary provided during your journey to Cassowary Falls.
This is an exclusive 90-minute tour on the Gateway to Cassowary Falls property, which is located at 263 Upper Daintree Road, approximately a 4km or 6minute drive from Daintree Village. We are on the ‘Cairns’ side of the Daintree River, so no need to catch the ferry. Google map location. Self-drive to our property, which is accessible by conventional vehicles – with plenty of onsite parking – before transferring to one of our tour vehicles for your adventure. We have 3 tour vehicles to choose from and will pick the best one on the day, to suit the tour group size. NB: Minimum number of 2 guests to operate and maximum number of 12 per trip. Two tours daily: 10.15am – 11.45am | 12.30pm – 2pm.
Please Note: Cassowary Falls is not suitable for non-swimmers. Young children must be supervised at all times. There is a short, 15metre walk from the tour vehicle to the waterfall, with easy water access. Moderate fitness and mobility required. Larger groups and different times can sometimes be accommodated.
