The Australian Chocolate Farm is a decadent way to start your day, on this private Daintree Food Tour. The farm is owned and operated by two chefs – a powerhouse husband and wife team – who had a dream to one day own their own chocolate farm. Passion and persistence paid off, and in 2023 they opened their doors and started to provide farm tours and chocolate tastings. Aptly named Bean to Bar, the tours take you amongst the cocoa trees, where you learn about the farming side of operations, and ends with a taste testing. Their chocolate is first class and has won many national and international awards, including Gold, Silver and Bronze at the Sydney Fine Food Fair.
The Scomazzon Fruit Farm and Store is a showcase of local produce and tropical fruits. The Scomazzon family bought their Daintree property in the 1930s, but it wasn’t until the late 1970s that they started growing exotic tropical fruits, which thrive in the ideal Daintree growing conditions. On this private Daintree Food Tour, you’ll explore their orchard and see hand harvesting, before tasting some of the seasonal, fresh fruit. From tree to table, you’ll be amazed at the diversity in colour, shape and taste. Some of the fruits grown here include mangosteens, durians, rambutans, bananas, pineapples and more.
Daintree Saltwater Barramundi are legendary for their award winning Australian barramundi. They grow their fish in earthen ponds, with water from the Daintree River, and use industry leading practices and innovation, with best practice husbandry and harvesting, to deliver a premium and sustainable supply of barramundi. Their produce features on the menu of leading Australian restaurants, and this is your chance to go behind the scenes and see how it all happens. Lunch is taste testing their barramundi, which has consistently won Gold and Silver Awards at the Sydney Fine Food Fair, since they first started entering in 2006. We’ll take you on an offroad adventure across some of our 160 acre private property, with an ever changing landscape of rolling hills and paddocks, set against a backdrop of Daintree Rainforest. You’ll cross creeks and streams to reach the ultimate destination, the beautiful Cassowary Falls. Here you can dive right into the freshwater pool, which is surrounded by lush rainforest and home to river perch and turtles.
